- Chat Interactions: Questions and queries you submit when chatting with your uploaded materials.
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely by our third-party payment processors (see Section 6).
- Preferences: Language, theme, notification settings, and learning preferences.
1.2 Automatically Collected Data

Notes and content you create using the rich notes editor are:
- Stored securely in your personal account
- Never used for AI model training without your explicit consent
- Only processed by AI when you explicitly request it (e.g., generating flashcards from your notes)
- Fully exportable at any time
3. Data Processing and Retention
3.1 Cloud Processing
Your uploaded content (audio, documents, videos, links) is sent to our cloud backend for processing by third-party AI models solely for content generation and learning material creation. We do not share your personal identification information with these AI model providers.
3.2 Temporary Data Handling
Input files may be cached locally and stored temporarily on our cloud servers during AI processing. Temporary processing data is securely deleted from the cloud after processing is complete.
3.3 Content Storage
Your AI-generated materials (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, podcasts, transcriptions), user-created notes, and learning progress are stored on our secure cloud servers and remain accessible across all your devices (web, iOS, Android, Chrome extension).
3.4 Data Retention Periods
- Active accounts: Full access to all uploaded content, notes, AI-generated materials, and learning progress.
- Cancelled accounts: 30 days retention of all learning data and materials.
- Marketing data: As long as necessary for business purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
We process your personal data based on:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide our AI-powered learning services and fulfill our contractual obligations.
- Legitimate Interests: For improving our AI models, marketing activities, and enhancing user experience.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Payment Processing
Payments for Mindli are processed through the following channels depending on how you access the Service:
- Web (mind.li): All web-based payments and subscriptions are processed through Paddle (paddle.com), our merchant of record. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.
- Apple App Store (iOS): If you subscribe or purchase credits through the iOS app, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
- Google Play Store (Android): If you subscribe or purchase credits through the Android app, payment is processed by Google. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Google's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
6.2 Cloud Processing and AI Services
We may utilize third-party cloud services for:
- AI transcription and content processing
- Natural language processing and summarization
- Audio generation for podcasts
- Data storage and backup
- Performance optimization
6.3 Marketing and Analytics Services
6.3.1 Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta")
We use Meta's services for marketing attribution. Data is transmitted securely based on our legitimate interests in measuring and improving marketing efforts. Meta processes data according to their Data Processing Terms and Privacy Policy.
Meta has certified its participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for transfers of European data to the United States.

8.3 Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data through the in-app account deletion feature:
Steps for Deletion:
- Go to the app's Settings.
- Navigate to "Account Management."
- Select "Delete Account."
Effect: Initiating this process results in the permanent and irreversible deletion of your entire account, all uploaded content, notes, AI-generated materials, learning progress, and all associated cloud data.

8.4 Deleting Individual Content
You can selectively delete individual notes, uploaded content, or AI-generated materials from within the app. This only deletes the specific items selected.
8.5 Opt-Out
You may opt out of optional data collection (e.g., analytics) through your account settings or device settings.
9. International Data Transfers
